Kalam Valley is an administrative subdivision of Swat District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Kalam is along the upper reaches of the Swat River in Swat Valley. Kalam is known for its waterfalls, lakes and lush green hills, and is a 270 km drive from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. It is a popular destination for tourists. At 29 kilometres (18 miles) from Bahrain and about 2,000 meters (6,600 feet) above sea level, the valley opens out, providing rooms for a small but fertile plateau above the river. In Kalam the Ushu and Utrot rivers join to form the Swat River. Here, the metalled road ends and shingle road leads to the Ushu and Utrot valleys. From Matiltan some snow-capped mountains are visible including Mount Falaksir 5,918 meters (19,416 feet), and another unnamed peak 6,096 meters (20,000 feet) high. KARWAN-E-KHAIR WELFARE ORGANIZATION Information Technology “ Computer Centre” & Linguistic Centre Kalam Computer Institute July 19 – 2011: On July 19 – 2011 Opening ceremony of 4th Karwan-e-khair Computer Institute took place moreover English Language and Tuition Centre plus Sport Centre were inaugurated first time in the history of Kalam. There was a big program arranged on the ground in which lot of people were present. Skill Development Centres. / Industrial homes / Karwan-e-Khair Hunerkada 26 December 2015 KALAM: Alham do Lillah We established 17th Skill Development Centre in KALAM, Village Molty (Upper) Town Usho, UC Kalam, Tehsil Behrain, Distt. Swat. We distributed Blankets, Cloths, Jackets among needy people. Shaho Village (Kalam) Skill Development Centre On July 18 – 2011: Opening ceremony of 5th Skill Development Centres was held in village SHAHO which is 3Km far away from main bazar of Kalam, where we also attended school ceremony in which students recited national anthem and other chorus items. Utoro (Kalam) Skill Development Centre On July 18 – 2011:Opening ceremony of 6th Second Skill Development Centre was inaugurated on the UC UTORO that is 15Km far away from main bazar of Kalam. Kalam Skill Develpoment On Sep 22 - 2010: Opening ceremony of 3rd Skill Development Centre. While addressing Syed Naved Mustafa said that the role of parents and teachers is equally important for the intellectual and mental growth of a child. He said that youth is the asset of the nation and the future of the country. It is vital to be skilled earn respectable living in the day to come and by keeping in view the importance, Karwan-e-Khair gives equal opportunities to both the boys and girls. He further said that throughout the year such integrated activities are planned which focus on the skills development at our all Centres. Aid Distribution On 24 December 2015, I & my family have gone KALAM & AZAD JAMMU & KASHMIR to distribute Aid among needy people. Disaster And Emergency Relief Kalam Aid Distribution Sep 24-2010 Widow And Orphan Support Kalam Eid Day With Orphans On Sep 11-2010: Karwan-e-Khair reached KALAM at 7am after 15 to 16 hours of continued travel on foot.. As this was EID day we prayed EID Namaz at 8:30 am and celebrated Eid with Orphan Children, took lunch for them and distributed fitra , Eiddy, gifts among them. Karwan-e-Khair believes in “Prevention is better than care” hand washing is essential as it prevents the transmission of germs that are often resistant to many antibiotics and can prove lethal, this was taught to children and others. Mr. Gulzar on the occasion said that in the community settings at homes, schools and where ever, hand hygiene is equally important. Many diseases such as typhoid, hepatitis and diarrhea spread through the faecal-oral rout and hand washing after going to the toilet and before meal is a habit that should be deeply ingrained in people. Common cold and potentially deadly influenza viruses are also spread by hands; this was taught to children and others. Karwan-e-Khair also arranged washing of hands of 70 children, soaps were distributed and rallies were carried out to highlight importance of hand washing. Medical Centre Utror (Kalam) Medical Centre & Maternity On May 06 – 2013: Alham-do-Lillah we established Medical Centre & Maternity Home in village & UC Utror ( Tehsil Bahrin, Distt. Swat KPK ), which is far away from Kalam. There is no Female technician ( LHV) available for dealing the delivery cases. These cases are being dealt by male technician at present. On 20th March 2013, We arranged a meeting with the local persons, they told us that there is one LHV who has completed the course from Peshawar but due to her poor condition she is unable to purchase the required equipments used for delivery purpose. We met with that Lady in presence of her husband and offer her the necessary equipments to start CLINIC with nominal charges to fulfill the requirement of delivery cases. She agreed with our proposal. On 6th May 2013 we handed over necessary item to her & now they have started the Medical Centre & Maternity Home. Kalam Medical Centre On Sep 22 - 2010: Opening ceremony of 3rd Karwan-e-Khair Medical Centre and Blood Donor Club of Karwan held at 4 pm in order to get them on their own feet’s. A number of people were present and they appreciated our efforts. They said our way of working is effective by which our youngster shall stand on their feet. They also said these things are seen first time in Kalam. It was reported that Karwan-e-Khair members are doing excellent job despite all the difficulties. According to resources there is a tremendous rise in the OPD since Medical Centre established. In fact Karwan-e-Khair is the first organization to establish these projects in Kalam. Medical Camps Kalam Medical Camps Flood Effected Areas Sep 2010: Karwan-e-Khair has been executing welfare and relief works since its day one in Swat, Allai and Sindh. We have been desirous of undertaking more critical assignment. In the recent calamity of flood we got a chance to take up more adventurous relief assignment in the Northern hills of Khyber Pakhtoon Khawah province specially Swat and its vicinity (KALAM) where land route was completely swept off. Our primary objectives were to provide relief items to the strained peoples as soon as possible and establish relief camps. We established Medical camp, equipped with pathological testing facility and various essential medical supplies for a smooth functioning of the camp in the 1st phase. Almost 6,000 cases of different diseases including measles, hepatitis. |
